A 3 hour drive north of the Gold Coast, you will find white sandy beaches stretching into an endless horizon, fringed by an aqua blue ocean, and a system of freshwater lakes in the island's centre. North Stradbroke Island is a great spot to snorkel and swim and experience the amazing sea life firsthand.
The Point Lookout area has some of the best surfing & fishing beaches in Queensland. The crystal clear warm water on Stradbroke is home to many playful dolphins and whales that you're regularly out surfing with, and the water temperature never drops below 19°C in mid winter and rises to a tropical 27°C in summer.
Stay at modern & comfortable Beach Accommodation that sleeps 4-6 people per room. Enjoy great views surrounded by the ocean and all you can eat, healthy homemade meals are included for the full 3 days. There is a huge array of fresh fruits, wholesome pasta's & salads and fresh local seafood...not to mention great Aussie BBQ's. Itinerary
Day 1 - Monday: 7.00am pick up from Transit Centre in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Scenic Drive north to Cleveland & onto the Straddie vehicle ferry (approx 2hrs). Calm Water' ferry ride over to Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island (approx 40min). A short drive to place of stay at Pt Lookout (the main northern tip of Straddie). Settle in with a walk or swim before a nice lunch around 12.00pm. 1st Surfing lesson or snorkel / dive class. Afternoon chill out or exploration of the island. Big dinner party on your first night on Nth Stradbroke Island.
Day 2 - Tuesday: Get up & 'tuck into' a good, solid, traditional Aussie breakfast. Ready for the 2nd surf / dive / snorkel in & around the island. Then a revitalising lunch after the morning's ocean adventures. Free time and a chance to discover other activities or sight-seeing on the island. Enjoy a delicious dinner, sound sleep & ready to go again next day.
Day 3 - Wednesday: Up early for another healthy island breakfast. Enjoy a 3rd surf lesson / dive course or snorkel in the day. Lunch & time to relax before 'take-off'. Drive to Dunwich to catch car ferry back over to Cleveland. Drive back to Gold Coast & arrive in Surfers by 6.00pm.
